
The time has come… ESA‘s Sentinel-1D satellite is in on its launch pad at Europe’s spaceport in French Guiana. Also ready is Arianespace and the Ariane 6 launch vehicle to carry the satellite to its assigned orbital slot.

Sentinel-1D is going to join with Sentinel-1 on-orbit. The spacecraft’s instruments are going to prove highly valuable as the satellite’s radar vision will enhance the Copernicus Earth observation mission. The acquired images should garner crucial data regarding the changing world, with a wealth of radar imagery that will definitely ad in response to any global disasters.
The broadcast of the launch can be watched on ESA Web TV, starting at 21:15 CET, Tuesday, November 4th, with liftoff expected to occur 22:02 CET.
