World Teleport Association publishes Top Operator Rankings for 2024

The World Teleport Association (WTA) has published their annual rankings for the Top Teleport Operators of 2024. The annual rankings of companies by revenue and revenue growth are compiled by surveying teleport operators around the world as well as referencing the published results of publicly-held companies.

“After tough years during the pandemic, the teleport sector has returned to growth,” said the trade organization’s deputy executive director Randall Barney. “The fastest growing companies are those with diverse businesses that are most nimbly adapting to the surge of new competition from LEO connectivity providers.”

The Global Top 10
The Global Top 10 ranks companies based on revenues from all customized communications services and includes operators of teleports and satellite fleets. In order from largest to smallest, the Global Top 10 of 2024 are:

  1. SES (Luxembourg)
  2. Intelsat (USA)
  3. Hughes (USA)
  4. Eutelsat Group (France)
  5. Speedcast (USA)
  6. Telesat (Canada)
  7. Arqiva (United Kingdom)
  8. Telespazio (Italy)
  9. Hispasat (Spain)
  10. Singtel (Singapore)

The Independent Top 10
The Independent Top 10 ranks teleport operators based on revenue from all sources. The list focuses on the independent operators at the core of the business, excluding companies whose primary business is ownership and operation of a satellite fleet or terrestrial network. In order from largest to smallest, the Independent Top 10 of 2024 are:

  1. Speedcast (USA)
  2. Arqiva (United Kingdom)
  3. Telespazio (Italy)
  4. Media Broadcast Satellite (Germany)
  5. Telstra (Australia)
  6. Planetcast Media Services Ltd. (India)
  7. du (United Arab Emirates)
  8. US Electrodynamics Inc. (USA)
  9. Jordan Media City (Jordan)
  10. Vivacom (Bulgaria)

The Fast 10
The Fast 10 ranks all teleport-operating companies based on year-over-year revenue growth in their most recent fiscal years. Ranked by revenue growth, the Fast 10 of 2024 are:

  1. Telstra (Australia)
  2. Media Broadcast Satellite (Germany)
  3. Planetcast Media Services Ltd. (India)
  4. Vivacom (Bulgaria)
  5. Hispasat (Spain)
  6. Es’hailSat (Qatar)
  7. Eutelsat Group (France)
  8. MEASAT Satellite Systems (Malaysia)
  9. SES (Luxembourg)
  10. Arqiva (United Kingdom)
