A SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket will launch the fourth pair of O3b mPOWER satellites to a medium Earth orbit by SES on Friday the 13th at 12:55 – 3:55 PM from Kennedt Space Center, Florida.
Launch Complex 39A has witnessed the launch of 191 rockets, including 190 orbital launch attempts, while Kennedy Space Center, Florida, has been the site for 249 rocket launches.
Both satellites feature redesigned payload power modules and will join the first six O3b mPOWER satellites already in operation at medium earth orbit (MEO). The two additional satellites will bolster the second-generation MEO system to continue delivering high-quality connectivity services required by customers across multiple market segments, at scale.
SES has been deploying O3b mPOWER services worldwide since April 2024, with the system’s core infrastructure deployed, tested and in use on a global basis.
A little more than eight minutes after liftoff, the first stage booster will land on a droneship positioned in the Atlantic Ocean.
