
An observation rocket, S-520 No. 34, launched from the Uchinoura Space Center in Kimotsuki, Kagoshima Prefecture, Japan, according to JAXA, the Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency.

A development test is to be conducted with this launch with the focus on what JAXA has called a detonation engine that creates propulsion through the use of ethanol and liquefied nitrous oxide. The object is to generate a shock wave in outer space.
