The Aerospace Corporation (Aerospace) was recently named one of America’s Best-In-State Employers 2024 by Forbes — Aerospace ranked as the #19 overall employer and #1 employer for the aerospace and defense sector in California — this is Aerospace’s first time to be named in this category and tenth overall recognition by Forbes.

Earlier this year, Aerospace was listed as one of America’s Best Midsize Employers in 2024, marking the fourth consecutive year the company has secured a position on that list. Aerospace was also named as a Best Midsize Employer from 2016 to 2019 and as a Best Employer for Diversity in 2019.

One of Aerospace’s five corporate values is Commitment to our People—inspiring and empowering our people to innovate, collaborate, and make a difference. The corporation lauds its employees as creative, motivated, dedicated, and empowered to ensure the highest levels of individual and organizational performance. Aerospace continues to build an inclusive work environment that nurtures the best ideas and generates the most novel innovations.

As a founding company for Space Workforce, a growing consortium of aerospace companies committed to improving diversity in the space industry, Aerospace prides itself in recruiting and employing a diverse workforce whose rich backgrounds provide the breadth of perspectives needed to generate solutions to advance the nation’s security and well-being.

The Forbes America’s Best-In-State Employers 2024 list was compiled through an independent survey of employees working for companies that employ at least 500 people within the United States. The ranking is open to companies from all industry sectors. Around 4.4 million employer evaluations were analyzed. The consideration of data from three years allowed a robust differentiation between organizations that consistently perform well from those that may only have had a single good year. Participants were asked if they would recommend their employer to others and to evaluate their employer based on working conditions, diversity, compensation packages, potential for development, company image, and more. Participants also assessed employers beyond their own. All surveys were anonymous to encourage candor.

“I am grateful to Forbes for recognizing The Aerospace Corporation as the #1 employer in Aerospace and Defense in California,” said Heather Laychak, Aerospace’s Chief People Officer. “We strive to attract and employ mission-focused talent who are inspired to shape the future of space. I’m so proud of this recognition – which is only possible because of the amazing people who work here and make this company THE Aerospace Corporation. Come check us out!“
