The office will be led by Kenneth Olafsson, Head of KSAT Asia Pacific and Representative Director for KSAT Japan, who has managed the commercial business for KSAT in the region for the last 14 years. He looks forward to relocating and starting this new chapter for KSAT.

In addition to open an office in Tokyo, KSAT is expanding the ground network capabilities by including two sites in Hokkaido and Okinawa, in partnership with JSAT.

“We want to contribute and bring value to satellite operators and end-users in Asia. We look forward to further innovating solutions by gaining a better understanding of customer needs,” said Rolf Skatteboe, CEO and President of KSAT. “We believe that a local presence in this dynamically expanding market is of great importance. We want to be ready to deliver to our customers globally and this is a first step into a KSAT expansion in Asia.
