Galaxy 1 joins Viasat’s ELEVATE program to provide integrated SATCOM solutions

June 8, 2024

Viasat, Inc. (NASDAQ: VSAT) recently announced announced that Galaxy 1, an independent provider of secure satellite communication services and connectivity, has joined its ELEVATE program.

ELEVATE is a growth program, ecosystem and marketplace for ambitious IoT solution providers, connectivity wholesalers, enablers and OEMs who want to work with Viasat to use its network and footprint to scale. As an ELEVATE partner, Galaxy 1 benefit from Viasat’s global L-band network – amplifying its ability to provide Internet of Things (IoT) and satellite connectivity services.

Headquartered in Florida, Galaxy 1 specializes in integrating mobile SATCOM services and connections, providing data airtime plans, secure terrestrial infrastructure, online firewalls, SATCOM equipment and IP applications for use over satellite networks. Galaxy 1 specializes in integrating IoT SATCOM and cellular services, delivering highly secure and resilient communication solutions to national critical infrastructure segments.

The company helps its customers stay connected — even in remote environments — through its innovative solutions for managing distributed terminals, including video and audio streaming, tracking software, a robust M2M/IoT control platform and a secure online billing (IBIS) and remote terminal management platform (RTM).

With offices in the UK, U.S., Netherlands and Singapore, it predominantly supports partners and integrators across utility, oil and gas, mining, transport, non-governmental organizations (NGOs) and media verticals.

As part of the program, Galaxy 1 will gain access to Viasat’s broader partner network, creating opportunities to collaborate on additional niche communications solutions for its customers.

ELEVATE’s marketplace will help the company attract new customers in locations without reliable connectivity, or those which have mission-critical connectivity needs.  For customers, it gives access to a broad choice of satellite connectivity and IoT solutions developed by a range of providers to enhance the efficiency, safety and sustainability of their businesses.

James Grisbrook, Senior Director, Marketing and Communications, Viasat Enterprise, said, “ELEVATE is the go-to destination for satellite IoT innovation. It’s a one-stop-shop that helps our partners easily leverage the latest technology to meet some of the greatest challenges the planet faces today. By combining forces, we will accelerate the development of IoT solutions to meet our clients’ mission-critical requirements across diverse industries. Through partnerships with forward-thinking companies like Galaxy 1, they can rely on our highly reliable L-band network to deliver groundbreaking solutions at speed. That ultimately means more integrated Internet of Things solutions for industries.”

Martyn Durrant, Chief Commercial Officer, Galaxy 1, said, “Galaxy 1 is extremely proud to join Viasat’s ELEVATE program, supporting the growth of our best-in-class IoT managed connectivity solutions and platforms. As a market leader in integrating satellite and terrestrial connectivity to deliver resilient and secure networks and solutions to the IoT segment, we view ELEVATE as an opportunity. Through the program, we plan to expand the reach of our solutions to more customers in the critical infrastructure segment and support like-minded partners with the capabilities to deliver to complex business challenges.”

Viasat’s ELEVATE program is open to new entrants, disruptors and established brands of any size who have developed an innovative digital product or service and want to access the power of satellite enabled IoT solutions. Viasat provides dedicated technical guidance on how to integrate and support its highly reliable satellite services, go-to-market strategy planning and exposure to its distribution channel to enable access to new markets.
