Yahsat’s Abu Dhabi teleport awarded Tier 4 Certification from the WTA

May 22, 2024

Al Yah Satellite Communications Company (ADX: YAHSAT) has announced that their Abu Dhabi Teleport has been awarded the World Teleport Association’s (WTA) Tier 4 Certification.

WTA is the only trade association for the satellite communications sector. By presenting Tier 4 status – their highest level – WTA has recognized the extensive efforts Yahsat has undertaken to deliver the best service at the highest standards.

WTA’s Certification program is respected across the satellite communication industry as it is a transparent, independently verified standard. The internationally acclaimed certification allows teleport operators to differentiate themselves while enabling customers to choose the teleports that offer the right price-performance level suitable for their applications.

The Certification is issued on a provisional self-reported system following the completion of a 170-item questionnaire evaluated against WTA’s standards, which the teleport must achieve in six months in addition to conducting an independent audit of the teleport and its services. Full Certification is valid for 3 years.

WTA’s Teleport Certification Program serves both teleport operators and their customers by creating an objective, transparent, and internationally accepted method for teleport operators to document the quality of their operations for customers and strategic partners. It also provides a means for customers to select teleport vendors delivering the price-performance level that is appropriate for their applications. Click here for a list of certified teleports.

Khalid Al Kaf, Chief Operations Officer of Yahsat, said: “We are delighted that Yahsat has been awarded the WTA’s Tier 4 Certificate. This Certificate recognizes Yahsat’s determination and commitment toward delivering the highest quality of service to our customers. Our ethos is to continuously push the boundaries of technology to meet and exceed their requirements by constantly aiming for even higher standards.”

Randall Barney, WTA’s Director of Certification & Membership, said, “The Tier 4 Certification is only awarded to those organizations that can demonstrate an elevated standard of service, and Yahsat is a great example of that. We provide an independent study and review of services provided by satellite teleports and judge the organization on a set of stringent criteria that Yahsat has accomplished.”
