Secure World Foundation’s leadership advancements

Secure World Foundation announces promotions in the leadership team, further strengthening their commitment to the secure, sustainable, and peaceful uses of outer space. These key roles will enhance strategic planning and execution for future-year projects.

Krystal Azelton

Krystal Azelton has been promoted to the Senior Director, Program Planning at Secure World Foundation. In this capacity, Ms. Azelton will lead the program planning process for future-year projects and budget in support of the organization’s strategic goals. Alongside her new responsibilities, Ms. Azelton will continue as Co-chair of SWF’s Summit for Space Sustainability.

Ian Christensen

We are also proud to announce that Ian Christensen has been promoted to Senior Director, Private Sector Programs. In his new role, Mr. Christensen will lead SWF’s SSA and STM policy work and initiatives related to in-space logistics, including satellite servicing, orbital debris remediation and mitigation, and other ISAM capabilities. He will also continue to spearhead SWF’s private sector engagement efforts and serve as Co-chair of SWF’s Summit for Space Sustainability.

Ms. Azelton and Mr. Christensen will assume their new roles beginning Monday, 29 April 2024.

These promotions within SWF’s leadership team will bring the seasoned perspectives of two long-serving program staff members and help the organization to continue to work toward sustainable activities in space.
