Recently, the U.S. Space Force (USSF) published their Commercial Space Strategy and the Department of Defense (DoD) their Commercial Space Integration Strategy — Susan Miller, the President of Viasat Government, issued the following statement regarding the USSF release.
“The release of the DoD Commercial Space Integration Strategy last week and U.S. Space Force Commercial Space Strategy are strong signals of the desire and fundamental need to increasingly use commercial space capabilities to effectively meet the national security, deterrence and resilience objectives. The message across both strategies is aligned and reflects what defense leadership has said publicly. Together, the documents represent the most comprehensive and detailed discussion of commercial space integration and implementation to date.“
Miller continued, “Viasat applauds the release of the strategies and defense leadership across DoD and USSF for collaborating on their creation. We are encouraged that through the development of this integration strategy, the DoD and Space Force clearly listened to commercial space sector voices and sought to address key areas of concern, including protecting all space systems, government and commercial. This is a positive step and we look forward to continued collaboration and direct engagement on these issues to support mission needs through the successful implementation of commercial space capabilities.
