
AvL Technologies (AvL) CEO Guy Clerici earlier this year announced new roles for Tony Wilkey, Larry Watts as well as several, key team leaders.

Tony Wilkey is now Executive Vice President reporting to CEO Guy Clerici and Larry Watts is now Vice President for Operations. Mr. Wilkey was promoted from his role of Senior Vice President with responsibilities for Business Development, Strategic Planning, New Products, Sales and Marketing, and has been with AvL for 14 years. Mr. Watts was Vice President of Programs and has moved to Operations; he has been with AvL for three years and was a business consultant for AvL prior to joining the company and has 30+ years of experience in operations with 20 years at the executive level.
Several other key leaders at AvL have moved into new roles. Jesse Kirby is now Director of Product Engineering, Ryan Cox is now Director of Program Management, Mark Ladow is now Systems Engineering Manager, Zach Akridge is now Senior Manager of Operations, and Mark Fish is now Senior Electrical Product Engineering and Manufacturing Manager. These talented team leaders have worked at AvL for many years and were selected for new roles due to their problem-solving initiative, drive for innovation, customer-first focus, and leadership by example.

Jim Oliver, the company President, also appointed Guy Clerici as Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and David Bowne as President. Mr. Oliver is moving toward full retirement this year.
Mr. Clerici brings more than 20 years’ experience as AvL’s general counsel and business consultant, plus a lifetime of business experience having grown up in a family of product manufacturing leaders to his new role as AvL’s CEO. After earning degrees in finance, law and corporate tax law, Mr. Clerici was responsible early in his career for guiding owners in the successful growth of their businesses. With firsthand experience assisting hundreds of closely held businesses to succeed, Mr. Clerici returned to North Carolina in the early 1990s to join in the purchase and management of several national market, Charlotte-based product manufacturing operations.
David Bowne is now the President of AvL and brings more than 35 years of experience in SATCOM and related industries, most recently as CEO of I.F. Engineering Corporation/CrossPoint Technologies. Mr. Bowne also has served as Vice President of Sales and Business Development for ND Satcom, Vice President of North American Sales for General Dynamics SATCOM Technologies, and Director of the Small Antenna Group (Worldwide) for Vertex Communications.
