NSR has released the Non–GEO Constellations Analysis Toolkit 4.0

October 4, 2023

NSR has released the firm’s latest edition of the Non-GEO Constellations Analysis Toolkit 4.0 (NCAT4), a gateway to comprehensive, data-driven insights into the world of NGSO (Non-Geostationary Orbit) satellite constellations.

NCAT4 is a powerful assembly of quantitative models that x-ray and benchmark LEO (Low Earth Orbit) and MEO (Medium Earth Orbit) satellite constellations. In its latest iteration, NSR has taken NCAT to the next level by moving it online, offering expanded capabilities and harnessing the processing power of the web.

This edition of NCAT brings new features and enhancements:

Point-and-Click Interactivity: Through interactive maps and controls, you can now zoom in/out, set user-terminal locations, and control dynamic calculations and visualizations effortlessly.

Multi-Orbit Analysis: Simulations can now be configured for a combination of sub-constellations, from one or multiple satellite operators, with limitless possibilities.

Enhanced Database and Updates: Quarterly software and database enhancements, along with daily updates for operating NGSO shells, ensure you’re working with the most current data.

Dynamic, Animated Visualizations: Real-time visualizations of propagating conditions, including satellite positions, link latency variations, and supply-demand heatmaps, provide valuable insights.

Space-Time Simulation Controls: Run real-time or accelerated time-lapse analysis globally, regionally, or locally for over 200 countries and territories, with simulations accelerated up to 300 times.

Hexagonal Ground Grid: NCAT4 introduces a dynamic hex-grid with precision down to city-size resolution, a significant improvement over previous versions.

Boosted IP Throughput Computations: Compute link budgets on all user and gateway beams, with three times larger (finer) IP throughput link budget instances.

Demand-Driven Supply: Simulate reconfigurations of steerable beam capacity to meet changing demand conditions.

Upgraded Mobility Tool: Access daily information sources for commercial flights, enabling assessment of in-flight connectivity supply/demand dynamics.

Downloadable Datasets: Download vast amounts of output datasets in CSV format for further processing.

Unlock the power of data-driven decision-making in the NGSO SATCOM arena with NCAT4 — for further information, access this direct link…
