ETL Systems appoints a new Chief Operating Officer + signs Armed Forces Covenant

July 18, 2023

ETL Systems has named a new senior appointment. The new Chief Operating Officer — Alex Baldock — brings 25 years of experience working in manufacturing, operations and supply-chain management.

Alex Baldock

Before joining ETL Systems, Alex held senior leadership positions with Magellan Aerospace, Cobham Group and, most recently, Abaco Systems as the Vice President of Operations and UK Managing Director.

Alex’s appointment follows a substantial period of growth for ETL Systems, with the company posting strong figures for its latest financial year.

In 2022, the business also announced the opening of a cutting-edge research and development center in Rickmansworth, enhanced the manufacturing capacity at its Herefordshire headquarters and also welcomed new CEO, Kevin Dunne.

“I’m incredibly excited to join ETL Systems and eagerly anticipating the opportunity to collaborate with the team. With an ever-growing global client-base and a highly skilled team of engineers, ETL holds a leading position within the SATCOMs industry. With the UK now one of the most attractive destinations for private investment in space, it’s certainly an exciting time to join the business. Working closely with the Chief Executive Officer, Kevin Dunne, I intend to use my experience to enable ETL to meet the ever-changing demands of the industry and continue its impressive growth.” — Alex Baldock, Chief Operating Officer, ETL Systems

“We are delighted to welcome Alex as our Chief Operating Officer. Having enjoyed rapid growth over recent years, it became clear that we needed an experienced professional to join the team to further develop and deliver our longer-term operations strategy. This will ensure that we’re in the best possible position to meet the demands of the industry. I know I speak on behalf of the whole team in wishing Alex a warm welcome to the business.” — Kevin Dunne, CEO, ETL Systems

Additionally, ETL Systems has signed the Armed Forces Covenant, reaffirming the firm’s commitment to supporting the UK’s Armed Forces community.

The Armed Forces Covenant is a pledge made by organisations to ensure that those who serve or have served, and their families, are treated fairly. By signing the Covenant, ETL Systems has committed to ensuring that veterans, reservists, and their spouses have access to the same employment opportunities, training, and support as any other employee.

“We are thrilled to have signed the Armed Forces Covenant, and to formally demonstrate our support for the UK’s Armed Forces community. We are a company that values diversity and inclusivity, and we recognize the valuable contributions that our veterans, reservists, and their families bring to our workforce.”— Kevin Dunne, CEO, ETL Systems

The pledge confirms ETL Systems as a Forces Friendly Employer, guaranteeing every veteran, reservist, and spouse will receive an interview, and is in line with the company’s ongoing commitment to diversity and inclusion. ETL Systems currently employs veterans, spouses of active service men and women, and parents with children in the Armed Forces and Cadets. Kevin said, “We are honored to have them as part of our team.”
