Reflex Aerospace, a Munich and Berlin- based startup specializing in the design and manufacture of advanced satellites, has signed MBS as its first commercial customer. This strategic partnership will leverage Reflex’s satellite manufacturing expertise to support MBS in delivering cutting-edge space technology. The launch is slated for fall 2024 aboard a SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket, achieving a significant milestone in both companies’ goals.
Boasting over 40 years of experience, Usingen-based MBS is a trusted service integrator and managed gateway operator. MBS operates data and voice communications via satellite and data networks — globally and in space. This partnership will enable rapid deployment of groundbreaking technology via a first- of-its-class satellite, setting new standards for custom-made satellite delivery.

This announcement comes shortly after Reflex Aerospace’s celebration of their second anniversary and the successful closure of their latest seed financing round, bringing in an additional €1.75 million to reach a total of nearly €9 million.
The company is leveraging the latest techniques to modernize satellite development and production, achieving faster delivery times and enhanced reliability. By applying algorithmic engineering and streamlined system design processes Reflex accelerates the delivery of satellites for their customers.

Sven Sünberg, Managing Director and Shareholder of MBS said, “I am thrilled that after a long and intensive search, we have found a partner with the skills, mindset and experience to safely launch our payload into orbit and operate it extensively. We need New Space pragmatism, an adaptable but at the same time highly available satellite platform — but above all the will to move forward.”
Walter Ballheimer, CEO of Reflex Aerospace, is confident that this development highlights the unique capabilities of Reflex’s satellite manufacturing model, “We are extremely thankful to MBS for entrusting us with this important mission. This partnership demonstrates that Reflex’s novel approach to satellite design and manufacturing, as well as its core value proposition of lightning-fast delivery, is exactly what the market demands at times of growing innovation pressure.”
