Space ISAC announces Deloitte as the organization’s newest founding member

January 26, 2023

The Space Information Sharing and Analysis Center (Space ISAC) has announced that Deloitte has joined the organization as a founding member. As part of Space ISAC, Deloitte will contribute its space industry resources and experience to the organization’s global space and cyber ecosystem.

Deloitte helps government agencies and private-sector entities navigate the emerging trends and technologies of the space industry. It advises a range of space-focused organizations across multiple government sectors – including defense, intelligence and civilian agencies – as well as Fortune 500 companies. Deloitte brings a deep network of knowledgeable and experienced specialists to support space industry clients and implements cutting-edge technologies and timely market analysis to help organizations maximize their missions in space.

ISACs are sector-specific, member-driven organizations established by the private sector with support from the federal government to collect, analyze and share timely information and resources about cybersecurity and physical security threats. ISACs also help deliver risk mitigation tools to critical infrastructure owners and operators to bolster resiliency.

The Space ISAC facilitates collaboration across the global space industry to prepare for and respond to vulnerabilities, incidents, and threats. It disseminates timely and actionable information among members and serves as the primary communications channel for space industry organizations.

“We’re proud to join a wide array of industry leaders as a founding member of the Space ISAC,” said Lt. Gen. (Ret.) Chris Weggeman, managing director, Deloitte & Touche LLP. “Working together with public sector and private sector entities, we can take significant steps forward to protect our nation’s interests, enhance our national security and maintain our competitive advantage in the space domain.”

“Deloitte and its leadership bring a wealth of knowledge in cybersecurity and applications to space systems,” said Erin Miller, executive director of the Space ISAC. “They fully embrace our mission and working together, alongside our current Founding Members, we will continue to increase security for our global space community.”

Space ISAC founding members includes Kratos Defense & Security Solutions, Inc. (NASDAQ: KTOS), Booz Allen Hamilton (NYSE: BAH), Deloitte, MITRE, SES, Lockheed Martin (NYSE: LMT), Northrop Grumman (NYSE: NOC), Parsons Corporation (NYSE: PSN), Purdue University, the Space Dynamics Laboratory, the Johns Hopkins University Applied Physics Laboratory, The Aerospace Corporation, the University of Colorado Colorado Springs, Microsoft, and L3Harris.

The establishment of the Space ISAC was announced in April 2019 during a session at the 35th Space Symposium and is headquartered in Colorado Springs, Colorado, co-located with the National Cybersecurity Center (NCC). NCC serves as the executive, operational, and administrative function of the Space ISAC.
