A new CEO appointed by ETL Systems

January 23, 2023

ETL Systems has strengthened its senior management team by appointing Kevin Dunne as the company’s new CEO and Joanna Gower as the company’s HR Director.

Kevin Dunne

Kevin brings more than 20 years of experience in RF Systems within the satellite and defence communications markets. Before joining ETL, he was Vice President and Managing Director of the Microwave, Microelectronics and Secure Communications Divisions at API Technologies Corporation.

Prior to API Technologies, he worked at Cobham PLC for 11 years delivering SATCOM and Aerospace Communication Systems. He held the roles of VP Programs, VP Sales & Business Development and, finally, VP of the Antenna Systems Division.

Ian Hilditch and Dr. Esen Bayar, who have been joint CEOs of ETL for 20 years, will remain fully engaged, but with more focus on the Business Development and Technology Roadmaps respectively and less on the day-to-day running of the business.

Announcing the new appointments, Ian said, “We are delighted to welcome Kevin and Joanna to our team. Kevin has significant experience of leading technology companies like ETL and will bring new skills and ideas to help us unlock the next phase of our growth journey. We’ve seen significant expansion in the Satcoms market, and we will continue to build on the core principles which have helped ETL reach our current successful position – developing innovative RF technologies and solutions. Quality, RF performance, resilience and customer service will remain critical to our core ethos. I know I speak on behalf of the whole team in wishing Kevin and Joanna a warm welcome.”

Commenting on his appointment, Kevin Dunne, incoming CEO at ETL Systems, said, “I’m excited to join ETL Systems, a business well known in the SATCOM industry for its high-quality RF distribution products and remarkable innovation. Working closely with Ian and Esen, I will be overseeing the day-to-day running of the business, along with delivering our strategy to leverage the myriad opportunities in the expanding satellite communications market and achieve our growth plans.”

Joanna Gower, now HR Director at ETL Systems, previously oversaw HR on a global basis for Genus PLC, where she led the delivery of the HR & People strategy across a diverse international workforce. Having recently relocated near to the company’s Herefordshire headquarters, she joins ETL Systems at a key time in its evolution. She said, “I’m looking forward to using my expertise in HR and people development at ETL. An effective people strategy is fundamental in enabling a business’s overall success and I am excited about building and developing the company globally.”
