Spaceit recently signed an agreement with RHEA System to participate in the development of the new Cyber-Security Operations Centre (C-SOC) for the European Space Agency (ESA).
Spaceit is a part of a consortium, led by Leonardo as Prime Contractor, of 19 companies who will design, implement, build, validate and operate ESA’s new Cyber-Security Operations Centre (C-SOC), a key infrastructure for the economy and security of Europe. RHEA System, as Subprime, is the technical and managerial coordinator of a group of six companies including Spaceit.
Spaceit’s cloud-based mission operations platform and simulators will be used to validate different functions of the C-SOC.
Operational from 2024, the C-SOC will strengthen the cyber protection of European space systems through the management and monitoring of vulnerabilities 24 hours a day, and improving security for ESA Member States and partners.
Thanks to a distributed architecture, the new Cyber-Security Operations Centre will be able to provide resilient and redundant security coverage to the entire ESA infrastructure, monitoring and managing its vulnerabilities 24 hours a day and 365 days a year, and improving security for ESA Member States and partners.
Spaceit, an Estonian space technology startup, offers infrastructure for satellite communications as a service. Spaceit has developed a single, cloud-based platform for mission control, ground station services and cyber defence exercises.
In addition to satellite command and control features, Spaceit platform is aggregating various ground station services, providing cross network communication worldwide. Furthermore, Spaceit platform is used in large-scale live fire cyber defence exercises (such as NATO CCDCOE’s Locked Shields with over 3,000 participants), as well as development, testing and validation of different satellite communications systems. Spaceit conducted successful pre-seed fundraising in 2021.
