WTA selects its finalists from nominations submitted to the association by both members and non-members. Recipients are selected by a vote of the WTA Membership.

“What we see among the independent teleport operators and their technology partners who are finalists for our 27th year of the awards, are companies that are innovating at speed and scale and incorporating the new realities of the satellite and earth observation sectors into their business models,” said WTA Director of Development, Louis Zacharilla. “The new requirements on the ground and among a range of new industry customers are pushing teleports to accommodate advances in coding, virtualization and data mining. While these six finalists come from all over, they are each ‘aiming higher’ on behalf of our industry and we honor them in 2022.”
In addition to honoring the winner from these two awards categories, WTA will present the 2022 Teleport Executive of the Year Award to Jim Veeder, CEO and President of U.S. Electrodynamics, Inc. (USEI) at the ceremony.
The attendees will include teleport, satellite and content distribution technology industry executives, as well as previous awards recipients from around the world. The event is free for WTA members, and attendance is also available on a paid basis to non-members.
