Key Topic Tech Forums Launched By Satcoms Innovation Group (SIG)

January 29, 2021

The Satcoms Innovation Group (SIG) has launched a series of technical forums tackling key topics within the SATCOM industry.

Taking place throughout the year, SIG’s technical forums will be a member-only discussion forum, aimed at identifying challenges faced by the industry, as well as the solutions needed to resolve those. Each forum will feature an introduction by one of the Board members and a presentation from a member, both of which will be available on demand. The subsequent discussion will not be recorded and will take place under Chatham House rules.

The Satcoms Innovation Group promotes innovation within the satellite communications industry, with the aim of improving operational efficiency and reducing impact. As a group made up of technical experts that understand the challenges in operational environments, it is uniquely positioned to drive technical evolution within the industry. For more information about joining SIG, please visit satig.space/membership/

SIG will also be hosting a number of webinars throughout the year. Details of the webinars and technical forums are available on the SIG website.

Helen Weedon

Helen Weedon, Managing Director, the Satcoms Innovation Group, commented, “The lack of in-person events has made it challenging for us to enable the open discussions we normally experience during our various workshops. Webinars are a great way of delivering a message, but with these forums we wanted to enable honest and open discussions which can lead to finding resolutions to the most pressing challenges facing the industry.”

With an era of new requirements upon us, such as request fulfillment and incident management, the Satcoms Innovation Group (SIG) aims to promote innovation in the satellite communication industry to improve operational efficiency and reduce impact, saving time and money. As an open forum to generate innovative thinking, it enables the industry to come together and discuss current challenges. This helps manufacturers and service providers to deliver innovations and solutions that respond more precisely to those challenges. Those solutions will then be promoted through SIG channels, including events, website, social media, and in discussions with SIG’s industry network.
