MinTIC, in partnership with AXESS Networks and Hispasat, will launch two, comprehensive, tele-education solutions that will be supported by satellite technology for two schools in Riosucio (Choco) and Puerto Colombia (Guainía), both in the nation of Colombia.

The strategy is based on connectivity through Hispasat’s satellites, which provide broadband Internet and host the tele-education system server. Subsequently, digital classrooms are set up in rural schools, consisting of laptops and tablets, with their respective charging cabinet and educational software previously installed on these devices, as well as digital boards.

As part of this joint work, the digital transformation of the community is accompanied by ICT training for teachers, socialization with students, parents, and the nearby community, for which free, community Wi-Fi is also enabled for actors outside the school, providing educational content for all and facilitates access to Government applications online.
This technology is made possible through the supply of electricity with solar panels, thus contributing to the conservation of the planet. Another component of this strategy is developed through a web application, which allows autonomous administration of the network, hosting relevant information on the browsing behavior of users and thus accompanying the process of technological appropriation.
Lastly, the entire deployment is provided for the installation, operation and support of the technology, with the backing of a permanent help desk, as well as warranty and maintenance of all components.
