The ViaSat-3 Americas mission, SpaceX’s second, Falcon Heavy launch of 2023, was successfully launched to GEO on April 30th from Kennedy Space Center after three, previous launch holds.

Also on board this mission is Astranis‘ first, MicroGEO satellite and Gravity Space’s GS-1 satellite.

One of the side boosters on this mission previously supported Arabsat-6A, STP-2, COSMO-SkyMed Second Generation FM2, KPLO, and three Starlink missions, and the second previously supported launch of Arabsat-6A and STP-2.

ViaSat-3 is a global satellite constellation that consists of three, high-capacity, Ka-band satellites that will increase the coverage and capacity of the Viasat network to bring high-quality, low-cost connectivity where it’s needed most.
With the ViaSat-3 constellation, Viasat anticipates offering unprecedented bandwidth productivity that helps the company to keep pace with growing marketplace demand and fuels innovation in the marketplace — while significantly growing the company’s total addressable market (TAM) and enabling us to focus on delivering higher margin services, including real-time earth and space networking.
