Airbus Defence and Space has signed an agreement with TerraNIS to export Farmstar, the space-based precision farming and crop monitoring service, outside of France.
Farmstar Export will be developed in Europe combining Airbus’ experience in sustainable agriculture solutions and TerraNIS’ geo-information services and expertise.
The commercialization of the service in Europe is the result of the support provided by the European Space Agency (ESA) and the sponsorship of the French Space Agency, CNES.
The aim is to establish Farmstar Export as a major European player in nitrogen precision agriculture, benefiting from the value and success that Farmstar achieved over the past two decades.
Since the early 2000s, Farmstar has become the leader in remote sensing management, supporting more than 12,500 French farmers to optimize their yield, improve their harvest quality, rationalize fertilizer inputs and safeguard the environment. Today, it covers more than 670,000 hectares and manages more than 80,000 plots annually.
