Beam Communications Holdings Ltd. has secured a contract to supply Iridium airtime to Mobile Tracking and Data Pty. Ltd. (MTData), a wholly owned subsidiary of Telstra Corporation Limited.
The contract commenced in October of 2022 and the value of the contract for the first two years (minimum contracted period) is in excess of $1.2 million. Unless otherwise ended, the contract rolls over yearly after that minimum term has expired.
MTData offers vehicle telematics and connected fleet management technology and is a long- standing customer of Beam and has purchased hardware and services from the Company over the last 10 years.
“This contract will contribute positively to the Company’s revenue and profits over the next two years. Through Beam and the SatPhone Shop business, we have been receiving more business in recent times from Australian enterprise and government customers for Iridium’s satellite network services and Beam terminals,” said Michael Capocchi, Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Beam. “As satellite services are getting more advanced while becoming more affordable, organisations are starting to recognise the importance of having network coverage that goes beyond cellular and Wi- Fi. Satellite is no longer regarded as just a niche market opportunity.””
