Fully Integrated Multi-Orbit Terminal Will Be The Result Of Isotropic Systems + ST Engineering iDirect Partnership

March 25, 2022

Isotropic Systems is participating in a strategic integration partnership with ST Engineering iDirect, securing a fully integrated, iDirect waveform option to enrich commercial and government networks globally, enabling concurrent connections in the harshest environments to achieve highly resilient, multi-domain, multi-orbit communications.

Isotropic Systems’ first launch products will offer a powerful, fully integrated, iDirect option designed to unlock access to multiple iDirect platforms concurrently over GEO satellites and upcoming NGSO constellations, as well as commercial and government frequency bands including Defense TRANSEC and commercial grade links across all orbits.

Government and Defense end-users will leverage the world’s only full-performance multi-link terminal, fully integrated with power and waveform options. The capability to converge orbits, MILSATCOM with COMSATCOM, Multicast with Unicast, independent waveforms across multiple links, TRANSEC and Non-TRANSEC waveforms, delivers an unprecedented level of network resiliency. Isotropic Systems’ ability to offer multiple, concurrent, full performance links mitigates the threat from near-peer rivals in contested environments, providing real-time avoidance of intentional network jamming, blockages, and interference mitigating.

The Isotropic Systems multi-link terminal will offer a fully integrated iDirect 950mp and breakthrough MDM5000 series option that runs across multiple iDirect platforms. The MDM5000 series is also certified to operate over the SES O3b mPOWER MEO system which is set to launch and initiate service using Isotropic Systems’ extensive range of terminal options later this year.

Isotropic Systems completed a series of multi-orbit antenna trials with the U.S. Army and military forces earlier this year, enabling a broad range of vertical markets to leverage the game-changing terminal to connect to as many satellites as they want, when and wherever they want. The Isotropic Systems multi-link antenna uses transformational optics to link seamlessly and concurrently with multiple satellites in multiple orbits, offering a strategic edge to users looking to bring tailored experiences to the aerospace, maritime, defense, land mobile and enterprise markets.

“Isotropic Systems is redefining satellite connectivity with the world’s only full-performance multi-link antenna. We are thrilled to unlock multi-orbit access by offering multiple fully integrated iDirect platforms so that government and commercial users can benefit from the strengths of our combined solution,” said John Finney, Isotropic Systems CEO. “We are laser-focused on the commercial rollout of our first-generation integrated multi-link terminals in time to support the exciting launch of existing and next-generation satellites in multiple orbits beginning late this year.”

“This strategic integration partnership between Isotropic Systems and ST Engineering iDirect is delivering the ultimate resiliency and flexibility in connectivity for the most demanding commercial and government networks in the world,” said Cynthia Harty, VP, Business Development at ST Engineering iDirect. “We bring a wealth of proven capabilities to this collaboration, and we look forward to seeing Isotropic Systems’ multi-link terminal open the door to a new level of connectivity around the world.“
