HySpecIQ’s Partner York Space Systems Will Provide Spacecraft Bus And Satellite Integrator

November 23, 2021

HySpecIQ, a company striving to become a major provider of hyperspectral imagery confirmed York Space Systems as its choice partner to manufacture its spacecraft bus and integrate the payloads with it. This announcement marks the third major partnership that is part of HySpecIQ’s strategic plan to manufacture and launch its hyperspectral imaging satellites; the others being BridgeComm Inc. and Soter Technology.

William Schuster, Co-Founder of HySpecIQ offered, “York’s approach of having a standardized bus offers a best value solution that benefits cost, schedule and reliability. The simple fact that this bus meets all HySpecIQ’s needs with little/no adaptation demonstrates how well they understand the missions it supports and what it takes to do it. York’s long record of success ultimately guided our decision in selecting them as the right partner to meet our needs.”

Schuster continued, “Working with York and using their versatile spacecraft platform, will save HySpecIQ the cost and time to develop a satellite on our own. HySpecIQ will take advantage of York’s turnkey solution to build the constellation rapidly and affordably. This makes a huge difference in the timeline and cost to field the overall system —and takes HySpecIQ one step closer to becoming a leading provider of hyperspectral imagery and analytics for national security, commercial, and environmental uses.”

Chuck Beames, executive chairman of York Space and former senior space acquisition executive in the Pentagon concluded, “We are thrilled to be a part of HySpecIQ’s world class team. Hyperspectral imaging products and services will transform and advance national security and civil capabilities much like GPS did in earlier decades.”

HySpecIQ is unleashing the power and potential of hyperspectral imagery by launching their own optimized, purpose-built, remote sensing satellites to capture the highest resolution hyperspectral imagery from around the globe. HySpecIQ’s satellites and technology resolutions turn the invisible into the invaluable and transform data into informed decisions.
