Advantech Wireless Receives POs for Engage™ Class Mobile Terminals

February 8, 2021

Advantech Wireless Technologies Inc. (AWT) has received purchase orders totaling more than C$2 million for the company’s military grade satellite communications (SATCOM) hardware, including the Engage™ Class Mobile Terminals.

The Engage Class Terminals are fully integrated quad-band systems designed for strategic applications, easy deployment and operation under harsh environmental conditions. These flexible and transportable satellite terminals have been tested for the highest level of performance and compliance with military requirements.

The Engage Class terminals are now deployed by NATO operational forces and have gained wide acceptance by the front line forces due to their reliability, versatility, and ease of use.

The RF section includes Advantech’s Gallium Nitride (GaN) based technology Solid State Power Amplifiers and Block-Up Converters (SSPAs/BUCs), covering C-, X-, Ku-, and Ka-band. This State of the Art RF technology is now present in hundreds of NATO SATCOM terminals, including third party WGS certified systems.

“The Engage Class terminals are fully integrated SATCOM systems, that are now part of our core Network Centric Warfare Architecture concept. These systems are building on a SATCOM backbone, a powerful distributed communication system that includes integration of Tactical Radios, Private LTE networks, Radars, Surveillance cameras, as well as UAV monitoring and control capabilities. In addition, these terminals are now in process of being fitted with secure LEO communication capabilities, that will allow low latency communication in areas where GEO satellites access is denied,” said Cristi Damian, VP of Business Development at Advantech Wireless Technologies.
