A Long March-3B carrier rocket transported the satellite to orbit from the Xichang Satellite Launch Center in Xichang in southwest China’s Sichuan Province.
China will use this satellite for communications, radio, television and data transmission, as well as various technology tests.
This launch marks the 360th mission for the Long March series carrier rockets.
