MetOcean Telematics Unveils Iridium Edge® Pro

October 2, 2020

MetOcean Telematics (MetOcean) is now making available their new Iridium Edge® Pro (Edge Pro).

The Iridium Edge Pro is a standalone, smart, Iridium satellite communication device. The device offers solution providers with a more simplistic and timely way to integrate real-time Iridium satellite communications into their applications.

Through the use of Java applications, the Edge Pro collects and processes data based on operational requirements, including exception-only reporting that can minimize operational costs from anywhere on the planet. The device is equipped with built in Bluetooth/BLE, CANbus and Modbus interfaces, GPS, SBD modem, USB, serial interfaces, Geofencing, secure boot, custom messages, an accelerometer, and digital and analog input/output ports with many more out-of-the-box features.

Flexibility is key and Edge Pro users can make over-the-air configuration and reporting updates to deployed devices via the Iridium network. Bi-directional abilities of the device allow users to be connected to their assets at any place, any time, around the globe.

Experts in Iridium IoT and Iridium services, MetOcean is dedicated to the success and support of Edge Pro users. To further eliminate time-barriers to market, MetOcean will be offering industry leading application and satellite development support services to compliment Edge Pro clients.

Executive Comment

Scott Ivany

“The Iridium Edge Pro significantly lowers both the cost and technical barriers for integrating Satellite IoT. By leveraging Iridium’s superior satellite service it is the first product customers should think of when needing to track, command or monitor assets outside of cellular range,” said Scott Ivany, VP and GM, MetOcean.
