Cobham Advanced Electronic Solutions (CAES), provider of mission critical electronic solutions, has a new Chief Executive Officer (CEO) effective September 1, 2020. Mike Kahn takes over from Shawn Black, who is leaving the business to pursue other opportunities.

Mike has held a number of senior positions within the aerospace and defense industry, and most recently served as the Sector VP and General Manager for Weapon Systems at Northrop Grumman, following the acquisition of Orbital ATK where he was President of Defense Systems.

During his nearly 40 years in aerospace and defense, Mike has been the recipient of numerous awards and is widely recognized as a leader within the sector. Mike has extensive experience supporting the Department of Defense, NASA and major commercial customers in successfully delivering significant programs across manned and unmanned launch vehicles, spacecraft and satellites, strategic and tactical missiles, advanced munitions and precision weapon systems.

“We are delighted to welcome Mike to Cobham Advanced Electronic Solutions,” said Robert Hitt, Vice Chairman of the Board of Cobham Advanced Electronic Solutions. “We believe that Mike’s proven leadership capabilities and experience in engineering, manufacturing, mission assurance, and programs, will be of significant benefit to the company and our customers as we continue to take CAES forward. We would also like to take this opportunity to thank Shawn Black for his hard work and leadership during his two years with CAES and wish him well for his future endeavors,” he continued.

“I am pleased to have been given this opportunity at CAES,” said Mike Kahn, CEO of Cobham Advanced Electronic Solutions. “This is a great company with an industry leading reputation as a provider of mission-critical and specialized solutions. I look forward to working with my new colleagues and supporting our customers, as we continue to deliver world leading products.”
