Radiation Test Solutions Buys Cobham Advanced Electronics’ Cobham RAD

June 2, 2020

Cobham Advanced Electronic Solutions (CAES) has sold their Cobham RAD Inc. (Cobham RAD) radiation testing business in Colorado Springs, Colorado, to Radiation Test Solutions, Inc. (RTS), a specialist in the design, analysis, and testing of semiconductor devices and materials for satellite, aircraft and ground applications.

Shawn Black, CEO of Cobham Advanced Electronic Solution, said ensuring the firm’s strategic planning process, the determination was made that the company was not the optimal owner of Cobham RAD. This sale aligns with CAES’ strategic intent to focus on core competencies in design and manufacture of RF, microwave and millimeter wave solutions; digital processing, and power solutions for space, electronic warfare, radar, and missile applications. The company has had a good working relationship with RTS and have been impressed by their technical capabilities and strong support of CAES customers.

Malcolm Thomson, President, Radiation Test Solutions, added that by bringing both companies together under one roof, RTS can ensure its ability to support the growing needs of the commercial space industry.
